While camping in the Arizona Desert during a rainstorm, I met a man who shared a dream he had about an ornate piece of jewelry. He believed I was the one to create it, and we set out to buy the necessary materials and tools. Over the next several years, I sought ways to learn the jewelry trade. It wasn’t until I landed an apprenticeship with jeweler Stephen Leblanc that I became comfortable enough with the tools and materials to explore my ideas in jewelry form. My work now combines the singularity and innate beauty of hand-forged jewelry, introduced to me during my apprenticeship, with my undisguised adoration for natural gemstones and the endless ways to set them into precious metals.
